Young people’s badge: Digital Story
Awarded for sharing a digital artefact representing your interest or experience in digital youth work. This badge recognises your ability to reflect and express yourself using digital content.
Skills and experiences gained
This badge aligns with DigComp 2.2 and supports the development of:
- Developing digital content (Digital Content Creation)
- Sharing through digital technologies (Communication and Collaboration)
- Integrating and re-elaborating digital content (Digital Content Creation): if the chosen artefacts involves modifying or combining existing digital elements.
This badge recognises the earner’s ability to reflect on and share personal experiences using digital artefacts. Cities of Learning Network partners value young people’s contributions and issue this badge after reviewing the shared content.

Complete the following tasks and activities to earn the Digital Story badge.
Preparation:
- Think about your interests in digital tools, platforms, or activities.
- Look for a digital artefact (photo, video, meme, link, etc.) that reflects this interest.
Activity:
- Step 1. Join a small group circle and show your artefact to others.
- Step 2. Explain in 2–3 minutes why you chose it and what it says about your experience or interest in digital tools, platforms or activities.
Claim the badge:
- Task: Present your artefact and share your story.
- Evidence: Submit a photo of the artefact and a brief written summary.

Complete the following online activities to earn the Digital Story badge.
Preparation:
- Choose a platform for sharing your digital artifact (e.g., Padlet, Google Jamboard, a shared folder).
Activity:
- Step 1. Upload your digital artefact with a short description that answers the following questions: What is this artefact? Why did you choose it? How is it connected to digital tools, platforms or activities?
- Step 2. Hold an online meeting with others to exchange about your digital artifacts and tell your stories.
Claim the badge:
- Task: Share your artefact in a digital gallery or online space.
- Evidence: Submit a link or screenshot of your post with the description.
