Young People’s Badge: Digital Footprint Discovery
Awarded for sharing a digital representation of your personal digital footprint and reflecting on its implications. This badge recognises your ability to understand and articulate your online presence.

This badge aligns with DigComp Competence framework and supports the development of:
- Managing digital identity (Communication and Collaboration)
- Browsing, searching and filtering data, information and digital content (Information and Data Literacy)
This badge recognises the earner’s ability to map and share their digital footprint visually. Cities of Learning Network partners value young people’s understanding of their online presence and issue this badge after reviewing the submitted evidence.

Tasks
Task no.1
Evidence verified by: one activity organiser
Complete the following tasks and activities to earn the Digital Footprint Discovery badge.
Preparation:
- Reflect on your online activities (social media, searches, subscriptions, etc.).
- Prepare a visual representation of your digital footprint (a drawing, diagram, or list).
Activity:
- Step 1. Join a small group and share your digital footprint representation.
- Step 2. Explain in 2–3 minutes what it represents and what you learned about your online presence.
Claim the badge:
- Task: Present your digital footprint map and share your reflection.
- Evidence: Submit a photo or digital copy of your map with a brief summary.

Complete the following online activities to earn the Digital Footprint Discovery badge.
Preparation:
- Choose a platform for sharing your reflection (e.g., Padlet, Google Docs, personal blog).
Activity:
- Step 1. Create a post about digital footprint and a short reflection answering: What did you discover? How does it impact your online interactions?
- Step 2. Engage in online discussion with peers about the different digital footprints.
