Content

This activity helps youth, youth workers and youth work managers explore how math, movement, and digital storytelling come together through game-based learning using GoTeams, a mobile-friendly platform that turns real-life locations into live quiz routes and interactive missions.

Through hands-on participation and simple task creation, participants will learn how to guide and support youth teams during a “Living Math Quiz”, based on the format used in the streets of Punda, Curaçao, as part of the 'Kues Tur Ta Konta' event. Using GPS check-ins, QR codes, and multimedia prompts, GoTeams.Guru makes math playful, physical, and collaborative.

By completing this activity, you will:
  • Learn how to navigate and facilitate a GoTeams Living Math route
  • Guide youth in solving real-world math problems connected to Curaçao’s history, culture, and urban landscape
  • Strengthen your group facilitation, digital, and communication skills
  • Explore how game-based tools like GoTeams can make learning more inclusive, mobile, and community-centered

Get Inspired

GoTeams isn’t just a quiz builder, it’s a way to transform neighborhoods into learning playgrounds. From estimating distances between monuments to calculating meal costs at Plasa Bieu, participants connect abstract math with tangible places, people, and stories.
Whether you’re a a young person solving clues with a team, a youth worker guiding a group, or a youth work manager observing how gamification boosts engagement, this activity will shift how you see learning in public spaces.

Take Action: Activities for Different RolesExplore the role-specific badges to dive deeper into your GoTeams experience during Kues Tur Ta Konta:

  • Young people can join a math quiz as a team, solve GPS and QR challenges around Punda, and apply everyday logic in a fun, active format.
  • Youth workers can guide and support youth teams as they move through the quiz route, help interpret tasks, and spark curiosity along the way.
  • Youth organizations can integrate GoTeams into local education and community programs as a creative tool to mix physical activity, digital fluency, and real-world relevance.

Suggested Follow-Up Activities

  1. Create Your Own Trail: Design your own local GoTeams route with tasks related to budgeting, measurement, or civic math. Use schools, markets, or parks as your inspiration.
  2. Remix the Route: Take the official Punda quiz and remix it with your own math prompts or cultural stories and personalize the challenge for your own community.
  3. Math in the Wild Workshop: Use your GoTeams experience to host a youth-led event where learners design outdoor math games for their peers fostering digital and social leadership.
