Join the Cities of Learning blended course to advance your expertise in building unique digital youth work strategies guided by a systemic approach to facilitate digital transformation.

Cities of Learning partners invite your organisation to an exclusive opportunity to learn how to build a digital youth work strategy. Benefit from our 10 years of expertise in facilitating digital transformation in the youth work and NFE fields.

Through the course activities, you will explore the following topics:
  • 24th of June 16.00-17.30 CEST Brussels time // Leadership of digital transition with experts Nermin Zejnilovic (Quantum Workflow, Bosnia and Herzegovina) and Deva-Dee Sillie (Reshapers, Curaçao), hosted by Urška Česnik, TiPovej! and Monique Raphaela-Boezen, CITI.
  • 26th June, 16.00-17.30 CEST Brussels time // Quality assessment with expert Michele di Paola (Spazio Giovani - Impresa Sociale, Italy), hosted by Nerijus Kriauciunas, Cities of Learning Network and Sandra Zoomers, Breakthrough, Dutch Cities of Learning

The blended course will include interactive online workshops with valuable expert input. Course participants will also have access to self-paced activities to transfer their learning and advance their organisations' digital youth work strategy and practice. Self-paced activity examples are available on the www.digitalyouthwork.net platform. Estimate 2-4 hours a week to complete additional tasks on the Digital Youth Work platform.

The course organisers will provide additional on-site or online activities to participants from Curaçao, Lithuania, the Netherlands, and Slovenia.


Highlights of this online training activity:

  • Self-paced online course with an opportunity to meet and learn from the Digital Youth Work experts and Cities of Learning partners
  • Focuses on developing digital youth work strategies and practices in youth work and non-formal education;
  • Certified training: The Cities of Learning Network will offer opportunities for course participants to assess, validate, and recognise learning.
  • Digitally friendly: The training and learning methodology and activities will include digital tools, platforms, and Open Badges.
  • Although the initial phase will be brief, the course will offer opportunities for long-term involvement in the Cities of Learning Network activities in the follow-up.
  • Endorsed by the broad partnership of Cities of Learning members.

This course is for people who are:
Youth work managers
  • Youth workers* and non-formal educators
  • Group leaders in youth projects
  • Trainers, facilitators and educators
  • Youth programmes and projects managers
  • Mentors and coaches
  • Career counsellors and advisers
  • Organisation managers
Age: from 18 years.
Language: A sufficient level of English is necessary to participate in this course.
Eligible countries: any

*A Youth worker works with young people in various non-formal and informal learning contexts, typically focusing on young people's personal and social development through one-on-one relationships and group-based activities.


Digital credentials and certification

This training activity is a unique opportunity for participants to use up-to-date and digital recognition solutions, such as digital Open Badges (more about badges here).
A badge certificate will be offered to participants who complete 60% of the training programme activities (e.g., attending online workshops, completing badge tasks).

Costs

This course is free, as it is part of the Erasmus+ co-funded cooperation partnership “Digital Systemic”, which aims to support digital transformation in the youth work sector and beyond systematically and strategically.
Project partners address the needs, interests, and potential of young people, youth workers, and organisations' managers to innovate digital youth work services.
Youth workers will initiate and facilitate digital youth work developments in their practice. Organisations’ managers will lead their organisations toward integrating digital youth work services.
